Today, with the many risks caused by hackers and other cybercriminals, many banks and other institutions have implemented security measures to avoid robberies and identity theft in online operations. One of these is the use of external cryptographic devices such as USB tokens and smartcards.
This plugin allows you to use such devices on different websites. Once you have installed the extension, its logo will appear on the upper side of your browser. When you visit a site that is compatible with the use of cryptographic hardware, the logo will appear in green; if the site is not compatible, it will appear in gray.
You can open the plugin's menu by clicking on its logo. Then, you can decide if you want it to read and change the data only when you click on the extension, only in the site you opened, or in all the compatible sites. Also, you can hide the plugin from the browser's menu, or uninstall it altogether.
A drawback I found is that the Options command of the menu is permanently disabled, and thus, I couldn't review it or take a screenshot.
The plugin is free and is available both in English and Russian languages. It is also compatible with different web browsers.
If you use external devices to sign in to your bank or other online institution, then this plugin can be useful for you.
